To legally transfer ownership, you must complete the "Assignment of Title" section on the back of your Certificate of Title. You need to:
Enter the buyer's full name and address.
Write down the current odometer reading (without tenths of a mile).
Fill in the date of the sale.
Enter the purchase price.
Sign and print your name exactly as it appears on the front of the title.
If there are two owners listed on the title, both may need to sign. Do not use correction fluid or cross out information, as this can void the title.
