Well, the day we’ve long dreaded has come to pass: We have to buy an SUV (argh), because we now have a boatload of grandkids. And that means our fun and beloved VW Jetta SE TSI has to be sold. It’s a great car, with all the bells and whistles – leather, sunroof, full tint, heated seats, Bluetooth/Apple Car Play for your phones, and VW’s factory WeatherTech-style floor mats and Car Go trunk organizer system.
Are you a rookie to manual transmissions? Don’t worry, it has the “Hill Holder” feature (which you don’t even notice if you’re already a seasoned manual pilot).
I’m a Lime Rock Park car and racing guy, so I can promise you it’s been maintained extremely well. This Jetta has been been garaged year-round, it’s non-smoking, the battery is new from 2024, and it even has four brand-new Hankook Ventus V2 all-season tires – terrific in the dry and even better in the rain, which is why I bought them.
There are no interior blemishes, and it has just a couple of scratches on the rear bumper.
I’m firm about the price – it’s less than what you’d pay at a dealership, FYI – and you’re welcome to talk to me about the full set of brand-new studless ice and snow Blizzak tires mounted on VW steel wheels that I just bought for the winter months.
This car is great for college kids, or as a fun, reliable and safe first car. Needless to say, it can be a handy and economical commuter/daily driver.
