No. Butts County sits outside of Georgia's mandatory vehicle emissions testing zone. You do not need an emissions test to register a vehicle to an address in Jackson, Flovilla, Jenkinsburg, or anywhere else within the county borders.
To legally transfer ownership, the seller must sign the back of the original Georgia Certificate of Title in the designated "Seller" section. You will take this signed document directly to the Butts County Tax Commissioner's office in Jackson to finish the transfer process.

Georgia gives buyers who purchase from private sellers a strict seven-day grace period. You have exactly seven days from the date on your completed Bill of Sale to register the vehicle. To legally drive the car home during this short window, you must keep the original signed title and the dated Bill of Sale inside the vehicle at all times.
