To legally transfer ownership, the seller must sign the back of the original Georgia Certificate of Title in the designated "Seller" section. You will take this signed document directly to the Gordon County Tax Commissioner's office in Calhoun to finish the transfer process and put the car in your name.

In Georgia, the license plate stays with the seller. The state registers plates to an individual, not the vehicle itself. The seller must remove their plate before you take possession of the car. Never drive the vehicle with the seller's plates still attached.
