To legally transfer ownership, the seller must sign the back of the Georgia Certificate of Title. You and the seller must fill out the assignment section completely. Once you have the assigned title, take it to the Thomas County Tax Commissioner's Office located in Thomasville. You will also need a completed Form MV-1 (Title/Tag Application), your valid Georgia driver's license, and proof of active auto insurance.
